The day Zebra stopped selling new ones. This is the date every "end of life" page is quoting at you, and it only affects somebody about to buy. If you already have them, nothing happened to your fleet on that date.

Your MC9300 is not finished.
Zebra stopped selling it in March 2025, which is why you cannot buy a new one. They did not stop supporting it. Service and firmware run to 28 June 2030, Android 14 installs on it, and the batteries, cradles and keypads are all still orderable.
So this page is not a sales pitch for the replacement. It is what you can still get for the one you own, who fixes it, and what actually carries over the day you do move.
The question everyone asks first
Is mine dead? No.
Two dates get confused constantly, and only one of them matters to somebody who already owns the device.
Service and Support ends 28 June 2030
The one that matters. Until then Zebra repair them and issue firmware, including LifeGuard security updates. That is nearly four years from now, on a device you may have bought in 2020.
And Android 14 runs on it — a direct upgrade, from the February 2026 LifeGuard release onwards. A device on Android 14 is not a device anybody needs to apologise for.
The MC9300 is where this family went Android. Everything before it — the MC9100 and MC9200 generations, which is the MC9090, the MC9190 and the MC9200 — ran Windows Mobile or Windows CE. That is the line, and it matters more than any model number: an operating system Microsoft stopped supporting is a different problem from a device Zebra stopped selling.
So we will tell you when something genuinely has to go. Zebra closed the MC9090 out in 2017 and the MC9190 in 2020, and no amount of goodwill puts security updates back on them. That case is made on the Windows Mobile page — and the reason you can believe it there is that this page says the opposite about the MC9300.

Zebra call it 1-Bay and there are two slots. The bay is for the device; the second slot charges a spare battery beside it. That is what makes a two shift day work without buying a second terminal — the battery coming off at three in the afternoon is charged by the time the next shift wants it.

An MC9300 or MC9400 does not fit an MC9100 or MC9200 cradle. This cup is what makes it sit in one — charge only. No Ethernet, no USB, no comms. Keep the old rack for charging by all means; the data connection is what you lose.

A cradle price is the cradle. The power supply, the DC line cord, the power cord for the wall and the USB cable are separate parts, and a four-bay dock does not take the same ones as a single slot. Ask us for the whole thing rather than the cradle on its own — we will quote the parts that actually make it work, and tell you which ones you already have in a drawer.
The keypad is a part you fit yourself. All five layouts are field replaceable on the MC9300 — a T6 or T8 driver and a plastic pry tool, no firmware reflash, no trip to a service depot. Zebra publish the procedure with a video and it is in the product reference guide. If somebody told you a keypad change means sending the device away, they were describing the MC9200, which is a different machine.
When it breaks
Zebra stop in 2030. We do not.
There are two ways a repair gets done here, and the second one is the reason a date on Zebra's website is not the end of your fleet.
Through Zebra, while it lasts
Until 28 June 2030 the device is inside Zebra's own service and support. That is the route for anything under warranty or on a service contract, and it is the one we will use while it exists.
Through our own technician, after that
An independent contractor we have used for years, on time and materials. It is why we can still repair an MC9100 and an MC9200 today, years after Zebra closed both out — and why 2030 is a date on Zebra's calendar rather than on yours.
You get a quote before anybody touches it. Send the unit in, we look at it, and you get a price for the repair before work starts. Rates, turnaround and what a declined quote costs are all on one page rather than repeated here, so there is one place to keep right instead of two that drift apart.
When you do replace it
The MC9400 is the same brick.
Zebra name the MC9400 and MC9450 as the replacements, and the shape, the grip and the job are unchanged. What matters on the day is what you have to buy again.
The screen is the same
4.3 inch WVGA, 800 x 480, on both. Nobody has to relearn a layout and no screen-size assumption in your software breaks.
Keypads become swappable on site
Both are field replaceable, but the MC9400 offers seven layouts against the MC9300's five, including 5250 and VT terminal emulation. If your host system changed, the keypad can follow it.
Everything else steps up
6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and the SE58 engine that reads a label thirty metres up a rack.
The cradle you buy for an MC9400 has MC93 in its part number. CRD-MC93-2SUCHG-01 is the single-slot dock for both, and CRD-MC93-4SCHG-01 is the four-bay. That is Zebra's own SKU, not our claim — and it is worth asking us exactly what carries over before you budget for a fleet of new docks.
